See the LASIK surgeon that other eye doctors trust.
Over 1000 eye doctors refer their patients to Dr. Probst

Dr. Louis Probst

"LASIK is more than a procedure. It is a life changing event. We try to make LASIK as pleasant, professional, as perfect as possible".

As Medical Director of TLC Laser Eye Centers located in Chicago, Illinois ,  Madison, Wisconsin, and in Greenville and Hilton Head South Carolina. Dr. Probst is one of the most experienced surgeons in the United States. He currently performs up to 200 LASIK procedures per week.

Dr. Probst has given over 200 lectures and provides training to surgeons and eye doctors at refractive surgery conferences throughout the world from Brazil to India. He has published over 45 articles in peer-reviewed journals and 75 book chapters on refractive surgery.

Dr. Probst co-authored his reference textbook titled LASIK:Advances, Controversies, and Custom, used by refractive surgeons and eye care professionals worldwide and is currently completing an instructional CD-ROM on LASIK techniques for refractive surgeons. As a leader in LASIK, he developed several instruments specifically for refractive surgeons who perform LASIK procedures.

Dr. Probst performs all aspects of refractive surgery - myopic and hyperopic LASIK, as well as PRK. He has treated over 1000 custom patients in Canada using LASIK prior to the US FDA approval in November 1998. Dr. Probst strives to make the laser vision correction experience as pleasant as possible for each patient by answering questions or concerns prior to the procedure. His extensive experience and genuine concern for each patient is demonstrated through his calm and compassionate manner.

Dr. Probst completed residency training in Ophthalmology at the University of Western Ontario where he received four awards from his peers for outstanding achievement. He was selected from among ophthalmologists across North America for a surgical fellowship in corneal transplantation and refractive surgery at the University of Minnesota. The fellowship included training with world leaders in cornea and refractive surgery and treating patients from across the world with complex corneal conditions.

In 1995, Dr. Probst began performing in Canada using the Chiron 116 excimer laser. He has since performed over 80,000 LASIK procedures using the best excimer lasers available in the world, including the  VISX Star S4 Smoothscan.
